listen to this showListen to this show

On this week's show, renowned scientist and author Stephen Wolfram talked about some of the key ideas and discoveries outlined in his latest book, "A New Kind of Science," published in May 2002. Wolfram's talk was sponsored by the Boston University College of Engineering and the College of Arts and Sciences' Graduate Program in Mathematical Finance.

Stephen Wolfram has spent more than twenty years developing a new approach to science. Basic to his approach is the idea of studying rules of the kind embodied in the simplest computer programs instead of traditional mathematical equations. Wolfram is creator of Mathematica, and CEO of Wolfram Research, Inc.
